Diamond Data Systems, Inc. announces it has won eWARD from Louisiana Technology Council and GNO, Inc.

New Orleans – November 29 , 2007Diamond Data Systems is pleased to announce that it has won the 2007 eWARD for “Best Application of Technology” from the Louisiana Technology Council and Greater New Orleans, Inc., two local business promotion and development organizations.

The annual award, given to the metropolitan area’s top companies, organizations or individuals, honors those who compete in one or more of seven available categories. Of the categories available DDS competed in “Best Application of Technology” and successfully won out over numerous other entrants vying for the honor.

Using an existing web services technology Diamond Data Systems, Inc. developed a product for the U.S. Navy and adapted it to integrate directly into the Navy’s cadre of key tier-1 tactical decision-making systems. The result is that the system revolutionizes the speed and method by which critical, real-time tactical decision-making data is delivered to the warfighter. The project is called the Naval Oceanographic Portal, or “NOP”, and provides a single point of access for meteorological, atmospheric and oceanographic data that previously had to be obtained, classified and disseminated from over one hundred different websites.

Keith Alphonso, Director of Diamond Data’s office located at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi and project director of the winning technology said, “This project is an excellent example of how existing technologies can be brought to bear to solve complex problems, help save taxpayer money, and provide better support to our warfighters.”
